Wade Fishing at 5600cfs

Popular yet very inaccurate lore is that Grey Reef is unfishable without a boat at our high flows. Here is just a little proof to the contrary. Clark and Eric from Ft. Collins spent a majority of their day out of Stu's boat, wading the North Platte River at Grey Reef at 5600cfs. Of course many miles of private access opens up lots of opportunities. Good work guys!

Snowy Range Snowpack

Wyoming Department of Transportation is hard at work trying to get the road cleared by Memorial Day. It looks like it may not happen. Snowpack in the North Platte drainage continues to build and with another storm coming in tonight it might be mid June before the pass is open.

Frank Galli landed this little brown a couple days ago with the help of NPL and TRFS guide Rick. Ate a size 20 pheasant tail. Nice work Frank!

2 Fly

Sounds like the name of a rapper...2 Fly...whadup? The 2 Fly is a charity event that focuses around our local oil and gas industry and mixes it with our local tourist industry to raise a pile of $$ for local causes. This year the ARC of Natrona County, the Youth Crisis Center and Platte River Revival will enjoy big donations. After this year's event the 2 Fly foundation should be in the neighborhood of donating 850-900 thousand dollars to local needs over the past 7 years...pretty cool.
The attached pic is courtesy of Mark Boname owner of the Platte River Fly Shop. Timing is great and the story even better. It takes an event like this to gather that much attention to a streamer. Kind of looks like some sort of drug deal, diamond smuggling scenario or big city street corner watches in the trench coat sale.
